Shin mange
Here's another thing those "new father" books never tell you:
When you come home from work, and your little 11-month-old expert cruiser who is this close to walking greets you by pulling himself up by your pant legs into a standing position so you can get a better look at his wide, gap-toothed smile, your chest heaves with waves of pride and affection.
The experience is diametrically unpleasant when it's the weekend, and you're wearing shorts.

Yowch.

Or as my SigOth would say...when it's morning and she's pulling up on your chest hair.

Wow. I didn't even know that was possible.

Because my husband is a slow learner, he wound up with little bald spots on his legs with our first son. And again with our second.

This could be a revolutionary cure for the hirsuit!

That's payback for the "Epilady"!

OW. OW. OW. But you still beamed with pride at his little gap toothed smile, didn't you?

Through the tears, yes.

Our 9-month-old has for several months been adept at grabbing both a fistful of my chest hair AND one of my nipples, and digging right in with his tiny razor-sharp baby fingernails.
It's a damn good thing he's cute.

If our kids weren't so damn cute, we never would have overlooked the wigs for Locks of Love that our children were making with their father's donated hair
